Freedom.
It’s the word we all seem to chase when we start our businesses.
Freedom of time.
Freedom of money.
Freedom of choice.
But somewhere along the way, many women realise that the “freedom” they were chasing feels just as restrictive as the job they left. The endless to-do list, the pressure to keep up, the guilt of not doing enough, it all starts to creep in.
And that’s when we have to pause and ask ourselves → What does freedom actually look like for me?
Most mornings in my world look the same and that’s exactly how I like it.
I take my kids to school, go for a walk, make my tea and take my time before stepping into my business without rushing, without guilt or any ‘shoulds’.
Just space.
Choice.
Freedom.
Because I’ve built a business that fits my life, not the other way around.
There was a time when I thought I needed to be “on” all the time, replying to messages straight away, saying yes to everything, pushing through exhaustion because that’s what successful people did.
But that version of success didn’t feel like freedom.
It felt like another cage, just one I’d built myself.
Real freedom isn’t about working less, it’s about having the power to choose.
To choose when you work.
To choose how you show up.
To choose what matters most.
Your version of freedom might look completely different from mine and that’s actually the point.
Maybe it’s working school hours so you can do the drop-offs and pick-ups without stress.
Maybe it’s taking Fridays off.
Maybe it’s building something that lets you be fully present with your kids and deeply fulfilled in your work.
Whatever it looks like, it’s valid.
Because freedom isn’t found in the structure, it’s found in the alignment.
When you design your business around your values, your energy and your season of life, you stop chasing someone else’s version of success and start creating your own.
People often ask me how I balance business and life but I don’t believe in balance in the traditional sense.
Balance implies equality, that both sides weigh the same all the time.
That’s not realistic (especially as a Mum in business).
Instead, I believe in harmony.
Some days, business needs more of you.
Other days, family does.
And when your business is built around your life, not the other way around, both can coexist beautifully.
It’s not about doing it all.
It’s about doing what matters most, with intention.
Pause for a moment and ask yourself:
What does freedom actually look like for me right now?
What would your ideal day feel like, not just look like on paper?
Maybe it’s space to slow down in the morning.
Maybe it’s having support in your business so you can breathe again.
Maybe it’s finally creating routines that protect your energy instead of depleting it.
Whatever it is, start there.
Take one small, aligned action today that moves you closer to your version of freedom.
Because your dream life + business aren’t waiting for someday.
They’re being built in the choices you make today.
You get to build a life + business that fits you, your energy, your desires, your season.
And that’s exactly what a Life Aligned Business® is all about.
