I’ve been a Mum in business for over 12 years.
I’ve nursed babies while replying to client emails. Taken sales calls with kids watching Bluey in the background. Paused mid Zoom to break up sibling squabbles. And I’ve closed my laptop for school pickup knowing my to do list was far from done.
So when I speak into this, it’s not from a place of judgment. It’s from lived experience.
Here’s what I’d say to you, woman to woman, Mum to Mum, business owner to business owner …
If I wasn’t worried about hurting your feelings.
You say you want a business to enjoy your time with family.
One that gives you time freedom.
Presence.
A chance to live the dream you had when you started this whole thing.
But your calendar?
It’s telling a very different story.
You’re still overbooked and overstretched.
You’re saying “yes” to every request that comes your way, even when your body is begging for rest.
You’re putting your own dreams on the later list, again.
You’re filling the gaps with everyone else’s needs, while pushing your own to the side.
And I say this with love:
You don’t need another planner.
Or a prettier colour coded Trello board.
Or another freebie to download and forget about.
What you do need?
Is to get radically honest with yourself.
Honest about what you want.
Honest about what’s not working.
Honest about the patterns you’re repeating that keep you stuck in the same cycle, month after month.
This isn’t about shame.
It’s about choice.
You get to choose differently.
You get to redesign the way your business fits into your life, not the other way around.
You get to say, “I’m done with hustle being my default.”
Because the truth is …
No one’s coming to rearrange it for you.
No one’s going to tap you on the shoulder and say, “It’s time to put yourself first now.”
That gets to be your decision.
And if you’re ready for that, really ready
I want you to know this:
You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
I’m right here.
To hold space.
To support you with strategy that actually works for your life.
To help you create a business that doesn’t burn you out but builds you up.
Because I believe in the version of you who lives her life fully and runs a business that feels good.
It’s time to stop waiting for permission and start living like you mean it.
