When I look back at my business journey, the thing I’m most proud of isn’t a revenue figure.
It’s that my business has given me more life, not less.

Because here’s the truth: I didn’t start my business to work 24/7, feel overwhelmed and miss the moments that matter most. I started it because I wanted freedom, flexibility and fulfilment and to earn good money while doing it.

• Date days with my hubby when his shift work lines up

That means designing your business so that it supports your values, priorities and lifestyle, not steals from them.

When you do this, you not only create more space and joy in your personal life, but your business actually grows faster because you’re no longer burning out or second-guessing every move.

A practical exercise you can try today

If you’re nodding along but wondering how do I even start shifting this? Here’s a simple 10 minute exercise.

1. Write down your life non negotiables. School runs, family time, workouts, rest days, whatever matters most to you.
2. Decide on your “minimum viable week” in business. The 2 or 3 tasks that, if done consistently, will keep your business moving forward. (Hint: nurture, visibility, sales.)
3. Match your energy. Schedule your most important business task in your highest energy time of day, and protect it.
4. Subtract before you add. Drop or defer 2 or 3 tasks that don’t actually move the needle this week.

Do this every Monday, and you’ll start seeing how much more aligned and spacious your week feels.
